I've worked for HSBC Software Development India, nicknamed as GLT (Global Technology Centre), from August 2005 to June 2008.

GLT is a captive IT shop for HSBC group's IT requirements.

I joined this organisation after my college as a Trainee Software Engineer and am currently working as a Software Engineer.

My work involves development, maintenance and troubleshooting of Java based applications.

The main technical skills imparted to me during this period consist of Java, J2EE, Oracle SQL and Unix Shell Scripting.

Functionally, my job deals mainly with market reference data related to equities and fixed income instruments.

UPDATE 29/12/2007:
I was moved to a new project on 01/11/2007 which is into Stock Lending domain. Currently I'm the only developer on the project and was in London for a month for the initial understanding of the system! The technology involved is Java (Swing), Sybase and Power Builder.

UPDATE 17/04/2008:
My previous project came to an end on 31/03/2008 and I was moved to a new project on 01/04/2008 which is into International Mutual Funds, Forex Hedging and Derivatives. The technology involved is Spring (Core and MVC), Hibernate, AJAX and Oracle 10G.

UPDATE 27/06/2008:On 04/06/2008 I was relieved of my duties on my request since I wanted to pursue further education. With this, one chapter of my life was closed and another opened.
