AAJA-MN Chapter News

Congratulations to Hailey Lee, who was named Minnesota's top high school journalism senior by the Al Neuharth Free Spirit Awards.

Founded in 1999, the awards, named after Freedom Forum and USA Today founder Al Neuharth, recognizes the nation's most outstanding high school journalism students who have demonstrated "an abundance of free spirit."

She will receive a $1,000 scholarship and a trip to Washington, DC to attend a journalism conference. Lee, a senior at Edina Senior High School and a 2009 member of J-Camp in Boston, writes for her school paper and other local ethnic media publications. She hopes to pursue a career in broadcast journalism.
