Six Flags Field Trip and Referrals

Students who receive three referrals for the year (regardless of the reason for the referral) will not be able to attend the 8th Grade Six Flags trip on May 23rd with out their own parent/guardian attending.  The parent will need to pay their own way into the park.

Tardy Policy

Students are expected to arrive and be seated in their RoundTable class by 8:00 a.m.  A verbal warning may be given for the first late tardy; if the student continues to be tardy they will receive a detention.  The 4th time a student is tardy/late to RoundTable he or she will receive a referral as per school policy.

Students are expected to be on time to all classes.  The first or second time a student arrives late to class (for the semester) he or she will get a verbal warning, the third time will result in a detention.  A referral will be given for consistent tardies.

Any referral given for lateness DOES count toward the above mentioned Six Flags Referral Policy.

No Drop and Dash

When a student enters the classroom at the beginning of class he or she is not permitted to "drop and leave."  This means students may not drop off their books and leave the classroom again.  Once students have entered the classroom they are not allowed to leave without teacher approval.

No Ipods, Cell-Phones, Wheelies, and Gum

Ipods are to be put away in the backpack before entering the school building and kept in the locker. (Note: As outlined in the school handbook, BJHS is NOT responsible for lost or stolen property.  Students should avoid bringing these items to school when possible.)  Ipods seen in classrooms or hallways may be taken away by a teacher or administration.  Parents will have to come to school to retrieve the Ipod.

Cell phones are not be out during the school day.  Cell phones seen or heard in classrooms or hallways may be taken away by a teacher or adminstration.  Parents will have to come to school to retrieve the cell phone.

Heelies (shoes with wheels) are not permitted in BJHS.  Students rolling in classrooms or hallways may have the wheels removed from their shoes and kept by a teacher or administrator until the parent comes to school to retrieve them.

There is no gum or candy permitted in BJHS as per school policy.  8H classroom teachers follow this rule and will ask students to dispose of their gum.  Continuous gum chewing may result in a detention or referral.
