Taping a ratcheting screwdriver to the back of my guitar removed all the thumb pain I've been having in the joint closest to my fingernail, and made all bar chords a lot easier to hit. I either have weirdly shaped hands, or guitar necks were meant to be a lot fatter. I hit this 4th fret barred C (making it an E) very easily, and I never hit barred Cs. I'll have more experimentation to do, with a pad instead of a screwdriver, but I'm hoping it works out. I'm a little concerned for the loss of things like D/G, D/F#, D/F walkdowns, but losing, or relearning a few things is better than not playing at all.

Total installation time was about fifteen minutes with an alan key, ratcheting screwdriver and vise grips.
