Cashew Nuts
Cashew Nuts
One fruit, one nut. No wonder they cost so much. The local farmer told me that the nut is actually poisonous in it's natural state. It contains a toxic oil. What they do is put the raw nuts on an open fire. The oil from the nuts flares and flames. When the flame dies down that indicates that the oil has burned off. The nut can then be husked and eaten. By the by, the fruit is edible and eaten, but not very good. It tastes like a mealy apple.
old master cylinder
old master cylinder
Here's the old Master Cylinder (which provides hydraulic pressure to the brakes) for my VW GTI, with the brake fluid reservoir taken off. The four tubes coming out of it go to the brakes. The nut on the lower left line proved quite difficult to remove, rounding under pressure from a flare nut wrench. But vise grips loosened it easily.
