It's heeeere! I had seriously doubted the claim that an iPad would be a 'magical' experience. But after the kindly Apple reps gave me a complimentary bottle of SmartWater, and gave me some alone time with it, I must say... I want one. It's crudely been described as a big iPhone - but it's a whole 'nother animal. Nimbly and beautifully built for shared media, photos, videos - deftly accessing the web, mail... and the touch keyboard is really cool. I felt right at home with the large and quick responding buttons. Actually, since I type on my iPhone vertically, it felt even more comfortable for me in the vertical position. Screen is amazingly bright, and very crisp. iBooks is really quick and turning pages is sensitive and quick. You can even grab the edge of the page and move it around before you turn it. Very intuitive. Notice all the words above synonymous with 'fast'? The thing is FAST. I definitely see potential for expanded use. Flickr looks awesome on it too. Combined with the news that all Flickr videos can be rendered on iPad via HTML5? Even better. If I had the extra cash - boom. Sold. But I have as much cash for it as I do a legitimate reason to have one... for now...

I thought about this after reading top gear's review on Toyota's iQ which is essentially a box on wheels. Disgracefully, non cool car (let alone the name) and top gear gave it 16/20 as cool. So either they got paid for this, or either someone even more strange than the Stig got his hands on what's cool or not. So I thought of something cool... a mint and added wheels. Isn't that cool? emm, errrr ...it misses an engine, but the mints, sometimes do help my throat to keep going :-) P.S. Top Gear dared to compare the iQ to Apple's iPod - which is really cool! And awarded 14/20 to the new Mini and the Honda Civic, then a 7/20 for the Renault Laguna. On the same lines as the iQ: only 12/20 for the Smart (which is odd but far better looking) .... nahhhh this all needs to be revised, but at least 18/20 for Fiat's 500 does make sense.
