Attendance40 Attend all live sessions.  If there is a schedule conflict, let me know prior to your absence, then send a summary after watching the live archive. This includes timely comments on the class blog.
ADDIE Posts40You'll have a series of posts. I won't be assigning grades to each individual prompt, but will be leaving comments to help you design an effective site.

Analysis (Due no later than Aug 9)

  • Who are your users?
  • What do you want them to be able to do as a result of using your web site?
  • What have others done that is similar?
  • What performance drivers might prevent them from learning with this tool? (skills/knowledge, motivation, environment, incentive)
  • What are your objectives?

Design  (Due no later than Aug 9)

  • What do you want users to do when they visit this site?
  • How will they collaborate? Be specific

Development (Part 1 Preparation) Due no later than Aug 9

  • What tools (or combination of tools) will you use to support the site?
  • What customizations will you need to do to your site?
Development (Part 2) Due no later than Aug 16
  • Are you happy with how well it turned out?
  • What did you learn from setting up this site?

Implementation (Due no later than Aug 16))

  • How will you introduce this to the class?
  • How will you handle logins, passwords, and permissions?
  • What do you need to do to protect your students privacy (and yourself)?
  • What do you have to do to get permission from the powers-that-be at your school?

Evaluation (Due no later than Aug 9)

  • How will you know if this site is helping your users reach the objectives you’ve defined for them?
  • How will you evaluate what your users are doing?
  • Share Rubrics if applicable

A: You have a strong foundation in ADDIE and the ISD process.  You’ve done an exemplary job of defining your audience, their needs, and a solution that will work well for them.

B: You haven’t given enough consideration to one or more of phases in the ADDIE process.  Your project might work well, but has a few mismatches between what you want students to do and what the way your site has been set up.

Final Version of Developed Site   20This portion of your grade is for the time you put into building your site. You'll be graded on how well you actually carry out your plans.

A: The site is sophisticated and well designed for your audience.
B: This site doesn't have enough information or enough function built into it for collaborating. This site may be effective for your needs, but is too simple a design to earn an A on it's own.
C: This project doesn't look finished or is ill-conceived. I don't see how this could be a useful tool.

Due no later than Aug 16.
