Thematic sessions are very small and specialized events to be held during the conference as a set of oral presentations that are highly specialized in some particular theme or consisting of the works of some particular international project. The goal of special sessions (minimum 4 papers; maximum 8) is to provide a focused discussion on innovative topics. Each prospective organizer is invited to submit a proposal explaining the targeted topic's novelty/importance and listing the contributing authors and their contributions. Thematic Sessions proposers will be the chair of the Session. The duration of each Thematic Session is 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the number of speakers in the session. There should be no more than eight speakers in each session, so that there is sufficient time for a short introduction by the chairperson, questions from the participants and a final discussion. Multiple sessions can be organised under a single topic should the number of speakers exceed eight. Financial support for the conference is limited and no specific support will be provided by the conference to Thematic Sessions participants, and their conference registration fee is not waived. In some cases, where similar Thematic Sessions have been proposed, the Scientific Committee will discuss with the Thematic Sessions proposers to merge the two Sessions or arrive at an alternative topic for the Thematic Session. It is requested that those speakers that have been confirmed for an accepted session be present in the Thematic Session and deliver the presentation. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. If you are interested in organizing a Thematic Session please contact the Conference Secretariat. |
