“Delivery AdDress” Designed and Worn by Nicole Stanley This piece comes to our runway from the streets of New York City. Literally. Nothing says life in New York, and nothing says unnecessary waste, like take-out and delivery. Neighborhood eateries flooded her mailbox and front doorstep with literally hundreds of delivery menus every month, so she enlisted the help of friends and neighbors to gather up the unwanted ones and put them to good use. These paper menus were then hand-cut into over 2000 pieces, which were folded together to make this stylish cocktail minidress, perfect for an evening out--or, more appropriately, an evening in. And what do you do when your delivered fare inevitably comes double-wrapped in plastic bags and with enough plasticware and paper napkins for a family of six? Why, wear these wasteful extras, of course! Plastic delivery bags make up the dress's sleeves and sash, while used plastic spoons line the skirt's seams. And finally, when you're done with your dinner, don't forget to take care of your teeth!
