Pipeline ball valves - Ako pinch valve - Warren check valve. Pipeline Ball Valves
Sooke Pipeline trailhead GPS Coordinates: N48°26.386', W123°43.021' (copy and paste into Google.Earth) Howard Markson, his camerman and an officer of The Land Conservancy (TLC), hiked up to the Sooke Aqueduct (Sooke Water Flow Line) and filed a comprehensive video report on Channel-12, VI-News, December 17, 2007. I hiked up from the Station and walked the pipeline northward to where it crosses Mary vine Creek. Being familiar with the lower reaches of the Mary Vine Crk. Trail (where it meets the Galloping Goose Trail) I decided to return down this route. It was sure a rough trail. The storm of 2006 obliterated much of it but many trail-markers had been left by those who went before. I used all the trail-tape I had with me. Like I said, up near the top -- it's rough! A view of the support structure that holds the pipeline above ground every few hundred yards or so. The supports are designed such that they isolate the pipeline from earthquakes, allowing it to sway or move without stressing and breaking.
