Holiday Table Runner by Poppyprint
This is a gorgeous Martha Negley print paired with some linen and embroidered with 3 strands of DMC floss in burgundy, green and ivory. A simple, mod design that can stay on the table after Christmas! I didn't want a quilt on the table, so I just sewed it RST with a brushed cotton, turned it out and topstitched around the edge. I also topstitched the linen/cotton seams and then embroidered through the 2 layers.

The table cloth I use on Christmas Day has become something of a tradition. I have used as a base an old French linen bed sheet on to which I have appliqued motifs from other old linen pieces ( usually found in Charity Shops) and each Christmas I embroider the date and the names of the people who share our dinner with us.
