ICE COOLER RADIO. USED TRUE COOLERS. Ice Cooler Radio
365 221. year 2. ice/NICE! Today was interesting in many ways. I spent hours in Dr's offices--3 different appointments, I had some time to ponder this even further... It all began w/ a comment on facebook that set the tone for my whole day. Thank you KEN for making me realize how NICE life really is. I left quite early this morning to go see a crazy cool ice sculpture on Belle Isle. Ken made a comment "must be nice to have the day off"....and I thought for a bit.... Yes, it IS nice to have a career where I get days off to do the things i love to do. It's even nicer to love the days when I actually do go to work. I love my job. But you all know that. It is so nice to have friends that enjoy the simple things in life, just like I do. And that we get excited about an ice sculpture or the snow twinkling in the sun. These things might seem boring or trivial, but they are nice and make us smile. It's nice that I have medical insurance to cover the many many doctor visits I've had lately--especially in an age where many many people are not so fortunate. And it's nice to know that medicine is advanced enough that pretty much no matter what medical issues I have, my doctors can figure out a way to "fix it" or at least make it less painful. It's wonderfully nice to spend a day w/ my camera sitting by my side as I drive. It's even nicer knowing that some of the most amazing people pitched in and bought me that nice camera. Just cuz they are nice. It's nice to sit in the doctor's office and knit. And to feel sunshine shining on my hands as I do this. It's nice to be able to afford to put gas in my car this week. It's so so nice. It's nice realizing that I live in a world where people are incredibly more educated and tolerant than the world my parents lived in. And it's even nicer knowing that things will continue to progress in this way. It was so nice listening to Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech on the radio. And it was nice getting chills from it. Again. It's nice coming home to my doggies who love me no matter what, after a long day of being away. It's way nice when I can call a friend to bail me out of computer DEATH, and so so amazingly nice when the computer starts working again. And finally, it's the nicest feeling I've had in a long time as i think about the future. Tomorrow is HUGE ---- and it's so so nice to have an intelligent, thoughtful, hard working, President taking office tomorrow. I might go do a nice cart wheel. Thanks ken. You made my day!! :) Day 92
sunday. the four season nyc bathroom, room 1007. 10pm. - woke up feeling about 90% from my friday night rocker. i look tired here bc my left eye looks bigger than my right and they are bloodshot as hell. - had a quick outrageously expensive breakfast (but damn the $10 glass of freshly squeezed passion orange juice was good) and went shopping with my mom. - it was crapppppyyyyy out, snowed the night before, and was now freezing rain. we walked a few blocks to barneys, where we shopped for a while. - then we ran into joan rivers by the barney's exit. my mother looked her up and down, stood right next to her pretending to get out her gloves. from where i was standing i *knew* my mom didn't know who she was; she was comparing her coat (fur) to joan rivers' coat (also fur). i called my mom out on it a few seconds later when i said "you were comparing coats to joan rivers, weren't you?" she said yes she was and also was looking at all the work she had done on her face. then she said "that was joan rivers? she's had too much work." - then we took a cab to soho and went shopping there; tried to find a warm coat at the north face but everything i liked was sold out. wah wah. - then we grabbed some ray's pizza; got back to the hotel, freshened up and went to the 5pm showing of the Radio City Music Hall 75th Anniversary Christmas Spectacular. that was some fun stuff as long as you removed the screaming children and the smell of popcorn. i thought it would be more, um, civilized. but it was cute. - then we walked across the street and watched the peeps ice skate. it was cool, i want to do that! - went back to the hotel and watched the redskins kick some giant ass. haha. - went to bed early; cycling class in the morning...
