The small town up the road has a summer festival called "Horse Trading Days", a celebration of days gone by. Lots of food stands, people and sellers of various items you don't need. Seems it was a big year for carved wooden roses and tie dyed t-shirts. I often wonder if these venders just have a hobby that went out of control and their relatives refuse to accept any more beaded jewelery. The town is very proud - and rightly so - of the rebuilt and refurbished Strand theater. A lot of work went into saving this old movie palace, and this week it celebrates it's Grand Reopening with Debbie Reynolds performing a 3 night stand. Very fitting for this Grand Old Lady of a theater. And, oh yes, there are horses. Don't think anyone trades them anymore though :-).
