THIS is mONDAY....Approach with Caution! ©2011 Susan Ogden-All Rights Reserved Images Thruthelookingglass For those of you heading into the work week.......................you know my feelings about mONDAYs.....they don’t deserve a capital M....they generally move too slowly.....they suck the joy right out of a Sunday night.....they start the week on a sour note.....and all that stuff! Well, i am posting this in YOUR honor, since this particular mONDAY is not so horrendous for me, here in Richmond. I do NOT have to go to work in the morning, nor do i have to go to work for the rest of the summer....so, THIS mONDAY is not so bad at all here...other than i miss my Lileigh Grace immensely, of course. ( I think tomorrow, i shall have “Face Time” or “Skype Time” with her, to refill my heart with sunshine!) In the meantime i will be thinking of all of you that have to face mONDAY in the workplace and i am sending you good thoughts and (((HUGS))) for the battles you will do today, to get to Tuesday! You are my heroes! ;D SMILE...the day will go faster, if you can have some fun (or at least pretend to!) ...they always do speed by when there is fun involved!! PS. As a public service, this photo is divided into a "mONDAY meter", with notes, defining which part of the day you might be in at the time you view this... you are welcome! Day 20 4-5-08
Took a drive out to Canton Texas today for First Monday. A little about First Monday from their web site. One weekend every month, a peaceful, friendly East Texas town (population 5,100) turns into THE biggest open-air trade days in the world. It all began in the 1850s when the District Judge stopped in Canton on the first Monday of every month to hold court sessions, many brought goods, produce, and livestock with them to buy, sell or trade. By 1965, First Monday had outgrown the downtown square and was moved to six acres just two blocks north of the courthouse. What started by chance more than a century ago in an event you must experience to believe! Now, First Monday Trade Days hosts up to 7,000 vendors and as many as 300,000 visitors. On the way back the flowers were starting to bloom in spots so we stopped to take pictures. Best I can tell these are Maximillion Sunflowers.
