Haven’t done any pregnancy notes on here in a while. Or anything on here for that matter. Although if you are following me on facebook you are probably keeping up with my grips and moans. SO… preggo update. Probably random thoughts since that’s all my brain in capable of these days. Had an appointment today. The last appointment was 2 weeks ago, and to my surprise I haven’t gained any weight. So far a total gain of 38 lbs. This is only 3 lbs more than I was with Kayla, but we still have 4 weeks till the due date, so we will see. The doc did his first “check” today. He said everything is really soft, but there is no dilating yet. I thought there may have been something because of these really sharp pains I get. Apparently these are from the baby pushing on a nerve. We are down to weekly appointments now, so we will see how it goes next week. A friend of mine and I had a baby shower together this past weekend. It was nice, but SOOO hot. I was miserable but felt bad for the people I invited! I am way to use to Monterey weather, where it never gets over 80 degrees. And in reality 80 is pushing it! Spent the last few days getting the rest of what I need right away. Seems I forgot how expensive these little people are!! WOW I am not going to enjoy my credit card statement when that thing finally comes. But it’s OK. He now has his car seat/stroller combo, the playpen, bassinet, bunch of diapers and wipes, bath stuff, and more clothes than he will probably wear! Makayla has been pretty good so far. We had a moment when she saw the playpen put together but was told it was not for her. She insisted that she wanted to be a baby again. She also was confused about the car seat situation. She has always sat diagonal from me in the car, that way I can reach back there and get to her easily if need be. I debated for a long time about moving her or not. I decided she should be behind me, so that’s what we did. When she first got in the car she looked at his seat and I explained that’s where her brother was going to sit when he got here. She looked SO sad and said “but mommy… you can’t see me!” When I popped my head up in the rear view mirror her entire face lit up. In the 3 block drive to her school I probably had to look at her 20 times. And he finally has a name. Mykah Wayne. Took so long to decide, but now that we have told Papa the spelling and he is getting it tattooed on his arm soon there will be no changing it. :o) Now that we are all ready, we wait.
