The Cranes were the Bill Gates' of their time due to their ability to innovate ways to make valves and other piping and plumbing products of high, uniform quality at lower cost. Crane's 'time' spanned a full 100 years between R.T. and R.T. Jr. It is unlikely Gates' era will be so long. So, it seemed right to include a couple of valve shots. Here, we have a small hand operated glove valve. It's obvious no water has flowed thru it in a very long time, as the packing seems to have disintegrated, leaving the gland nuts clear of the gland by an inch. I wish I had pulled the stick off it. Here we have a fire hydrant made by National. I don't know if that was a Crane company, but it probably was. Alt title: Protected
