Ball Valves High Pressure

ball valves high pressure
    high pressure
  • (of a salesperson or sales pitch) Employing a high degree of coercion; insistent
  • Involving or using much physical force
  • High pressure science and engineering is studying the effects of high pressure on materials and the design and construction of devices, such as a diamond anvil cell, which can create high pressure.
  • A high-pressure area is a region where the atmospheric pressure at the surface of the planet is greater than its surrounding environment. Winds within high-pressure areas flow outward due to the higher density air near their center and friction with land.
  • hard-hitting: aggressively and persistently persuasive; "a hard-hitting advertising campaign"; "a high-pressure salesman"
  • Involving a high degree of activity and exertion; stressful
    ball valves
  • A one-way valve that is opened and closed by pressure on a ball that fits into a cup-shaped opening
  • (Ball Valve) A simple non-return valve consisting of a ball resting on a cylindrical seat within a liquid passageway.
  • (ball valve) any valve that checks flow by the seating of a ball
  • (Ball valve) A ball valve is a valve with a spherical disc, the part of the valve which controls the flow through it. The sphere has a hole, or port, through the middle so that when the port is in line with both ends of the valve, flow will occur.

Marshall Engine
Marshall Engine
This engine is in the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. The description reads: "This engine was built in England by Marshall , Sons and Co. Ltd and imported to Australia in 1909. For many years it drove a gold dredge on the Ovens River in Victoria. It later worked a sawmill in the Victorian town of Stawell. The Engine is a cross compound engine which means it has two cylinders laid side by side. The steam works first in the small, high pressure cylinder and then passed to the larger, low pressure cylinder. Between 1850 and 1950, engines like this provided power in factories around the world." High Pressure Cylinder: Bore 229mm (9 in) Stroke 406mm (16 in) Low Pressure Cylinder: Bore 356mm (14 in) Stroke 406mm (16 in) Steam pressure: 1.03MPa (150 psi) Speed: 150rpm Power: 62.6kW (84 indicated horsepower) Valves: high pressure: slide valve with expansion valve working on back of main valve under control of governor low pressure: plain slide valve with variable expansion on eccentric Valve gear: automatic expansion gear controlled by Hartnella centrifugal ball-type governor
Natural Spaghetti
Natural Spaghetti
Started the shot with raw natural spaghetti. Here is one shot. I also had some fun in the garage re-purposing an old Burning Man project. If you set up an air chamber through a lawn sprinkler valve, you can dump a lot of pressure very fast. The original project was to blast a liter of flammable liquid into the air and ignite it to form a large fire ball. I never found a good place to try it out, but kept the parts. Now I want to blast a water filled ping pong ball into a target. I got the parts together today and tried a stock ping pong ball. At 20psi, the ball bounced of a half inch thick piece of gator board. At 40psi, it left a good dent. At 60psi it went through the Gator board. At this point, I need to get a better backdrop, see what pressure I can go to with my air chamber and try a water filled ping pong ball.
