Dremel Tool Drill Press

dremel tool drill press
    dremel tool
  • A small drill-type tool that can be used for sanding, grinding, cutting or drilling. It's shaped like a fat pencil, and thus can be used with more skill (and thus more precision) than regular hand tools. Many modelers prefer the variable-speed model, which offers even more control.
  • Trade name of Dremel Company. Electrical power tools that turn at high speed in a rotary motion, used for grinding, shaping, and finishing.
  • Used to drill holes in signatures, book board and any stack of paper and light boards.  I prefer this method in my own book making.  It is also called a rotary tool, but I think most people would recognize it by the brand name, Dremel.
    drill press
  • A machine tool in which a rotating cutter, usually a twist drill, is pushed into a workpiece to produce a hole
  • a machine tool with a separate, upright stand; an electric drill is pressed into the work automatically or with a hand lever
  • A machine tool for drilling holes, set on a fixed stand
  • A drill or drill motor is a tool fitted with a rotating cutting tool, usually a drill bit, used for drilling holes in various materials. The cutting tool is gripped by a chuck at one end of the drill and rotated while pressed against the target material.

I just added another 8 ft of workbench. WOOHOO! That gives me 16 ft of work space. I am in heaven. This half will be for metalworking. I have my Smith Little torch set up for silver soldering to the left, my bench pin and anvil towards the center for cutting and pounding, leaving a nice open surface to the right for the dremel, the tumbler, and the drill press. The peg board will be filled with all of my tools, hanging and visible. I HATE to put things away where I can't see them. I have more hammers and pliers and cutters to put out tomorrow after I get more hooks for the peg board. I still need to put a piece of 1/4 inch tempered masonite on top, as soon as I can find a sheet. The bench pin and a piece of steel for pounding on will be inset flush with the top of the masonite. I'm also putting up a vent hood that will cover the torch to the left in this photo, and the minor burner to the right of the other work bench, and hanging lights over the work area. Not visible, to the left is the other 8 ft bench. It holds my bead making torch, all of my glass rod storage, a sheet glass cutting surface, grinder, ring saw, and storage for sheets of fusing glass. My glass tools, cutters, mandrels, etc, are stored over the bench (and under the shelf that holds the glass). Also there is storage for little bits and pieces like charms, jump rings, chain, found objects, etc., soldering iron, copper foil, PMC, and all of the cool PMC tools. 16 ft of work space is a lot of work space but it allows me to keep my torches mounted and all of the big tools in their place plus all of my hand tools visible. I am more productive that way. Getting out tools and supplies and putting them back away makes me lose motivation to work. Plus it gives me room for friends to come over and play! The kiln is still getting rolled around the room as needed. I need to find it a slightly more permanent home. Thanks Ralph for the work bench construction. I need all the help I can get these days. Tomorrow I will post pictures of everything in it's place, set up to work. Woo Hoo!
FD to EF mount basic instructions
FD to EF mount basic instructions
Using only a Kenko extension tube set, small bolts/nuts, drill, sander/grinder and a dremel tool I was able to construct these nice adapters to take advantage of better optics in the original Canon FD teleconverters over the readily available low cost Ebay adapters. Update: I added the best (in my opinion after trying a few) available focus confirmation chips. They are branded "Dandelion" and can be purchased from ebay seller ml-gvalt in Belarus who ships fast with no border issues on the few shipments I've gotten. What sets these chips apart is that you can program them from your camera to report back whatever aperture, focal length (so exif data is correct and metering in auto modes is helped), and emulates an autofocus lens so a camera can be set to only take a picture when it thinks focus has been achieved allowing one to chase a flock of birds with the shutter pressed and focus being manually manipulated and only have pics taken when they come into focus. NOTE: THERE IS A BETTER WAY, the 600 and 800 lenses can focus to infinity without optics by removing one screw and using an ultra low profile metal adapter.
