Blade of Quercus Suber (Cork Tile Removal +6)
Cork tiles are a pain in the rear to pull up. So far I have tried heat gun, chisel (by hand and with hammer), Stanley knife, metal scraper, kitchen knife and brick laying trowel. All of which failed to remove much tile. After a particularly fruitless attempt to pull up the tiles I had a rummage in my toolbox for something else. I came across a metal ruler that managed to get underneath the tiles really well and allow me to chip off large chunks of tile. I found that I could not get a good grip on the ruler so I duck taped on my chisel to act as a handle. Where previously it was taking approx 60 mins per tile I can now do a tile in about 10 mins! WoW.
