Per an inventory closeout dealer, Harry Epstein: "Diamond Tool Co. began in 1908 making horseshoes. Later they produced a line of hand tools & were particularly known for the quality of their adjustable wrenches & pliers. We bought their remaining inventory when they went out of business. When these closeouts are gone, there won't be any more." I know, adjustable or "crescent" wrenches are not held in the highest regard by "real" mechanics, but still, I'm really glad I have a few in my toolbox. And two of them -- this mini version and a hefty 12-incher -- are classics from a great old toolmaker. I've had them for ages and thank goodness have managed to hang onto them.
