This is the first photo in a series I've been planning for awhile. I have noticed that Torontonians seem to have a wee bit of a coffee cup disposal problem; they just don't do it as often as they should. I don't see quite as much garbage left on shelves in stores, or carefully placed on curbs, or sometimes even on top of the trash receptacles (instead of being in them!) as I do coffee cups. So the idea is to get 100 shots of abandoned coffee cups throughout the city. Depending on how well it goes (and how much time I have), I may keep going well past that number. Anyway, I went to a local drugstore to buy some shampoo (my brand was on sale. Yay!) Luckily, I had my camera with me, because there it was: my first official abandoned cup, right on the shelf below. I looked over my shoulder to make sure no one was watching, took out my camera and pretended to be very concerned with its well-being, quickly flipped it in the direction of the cup, clicked... and then continued shopping *whistles innocently*. What makes this shot perilous is that stores do not like it when you take pictures indoors; they consider it a security risk. If I were caught, I could be seriously warned or banned from the store, even though this shot clearly doesn't have anything risky in it. *sigh* the things I do for art... Oh, and I encourage people to add any tags they feel may be relevant, to get this project as much exposure as possible. As I progress with this project, I also remember some of my common tags, and forget others. Not intentionally, though!

“I just love milk coffee! As I was drinking my 10th milk coffee of the day from the cup “Cochonette” and dreaming around, I had an idea. I love coffee cups, I never miss an occasion, wherever I am to fall in love with a coffee cup and to buy it. (luckily you can buy this kind of love!). And people, who know me well, never think twice about which gift they could give me. And so it came to be that each of my coffee cups is lovely, and has a story. And I think, everybody in the world has one or many lovely coffee cups with a story. So I had the idea to create here, in WordPress, a new club, “The Coffee Cup Club”, where everybody can present his or her favourite coffee cup (s). Of course, as I am a painter, I was first thinking of drawings or paintings of coffee cups, but I think I should open the club to the photographers too, and the writers, and the musicians, and the film-makers, and even to the simply coffee drinkers!
