Of course, I have the usual shot of this amazing place, taken from right in front, like 30 million other pictures, so I won't post that. It doesn't look very sunny. We expected it to be. Like on the TV and in films. Well it is in the desert isn't it? But it was 4 degrees centigrade - subzero with the wind that howled through this canyon country, with rain and hail and snow! By the time we had walked along the Siq to the Treasury and the start of the city proper, my fingers were so numb I could barely operate the camera. There were people in our goup in t-shirts, shorts and flip flops. One guy's lips had turned blue. They were going to die! It really is the rose red city. The sandstone was red - more so in the rain (and snow) with wonderful striations. If it was a hot, sunny day, the light would have made the place look very different, but then it would have been an entirely different experience. And yes, as seen in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.'
