FLIP FLOPS MANNER - FLIP FLOP FOOT - LIGHT PINK FLIP FLOPS Flip Flops Manner
006/365 Nature vs. Nurture On the right is the American river. Salmon swim up this river traveling from the ocean through the delta system and up this stream to spawn. To the left we have the ladder and tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. the gate that keeps the salmon out will open and allow them to jump their way up it and ultimately come to their death. The fish however are unaware of this. Or maybe they aren't. Perhaps the fish are very, scarily, unnervingly aware that death is soon to be upon them and thus this would explain why they fight so desperately outside the currently unlifted gate and attempt to flip and flop and jump their way over it and up this ladder. Tonight I'm angry. The sort of anger that twists and turns your stomach into knots. And all because my parents bought my brother a heated blanket. My lousy, cruel, lying, horrible, has no care or thought to spare anyone but is a man whose entire world revolves around him in such a manner that he is the eternal victim of his own dramatic play, and we are all evil puppets. Set out to hurt him and harm and and blah, blah, blah, blah. I've never really hated anyone in my life, and at my core, I don't think I really even hate my brother, to hate someone requires us to love them to some extent, to care about them to some point, and I did love him and who he used to be and who he could have been. But I hate the man he is. I hate what he stands for and I hate what he is now. I wonder if we are who we are because of our nature or because of the way we were nurtured? We grew up very differently in the same house, raised by the same two people, but our experiences at the hands of our parents are so very opposite as to be North and South. It's not normal to be so angry over a stupid blanket. But I find any kindness towards such a horrible excuse for a person hard to swallow. Foreboding.
Aled & took our very first holiday together down in Newquay, Cornwall this week & the weather was absolutely awful. This shot was taken on the very beautiful Towan beach and doesn't do it justice at all. We had gone down to Newquay for the Relentless Boardriders surf competition and so had everyone else in the entire world so a small town like Newquay felt like Piccadilly circus and although the town of Newquay was great - full of little quaint surf shops and side streets, the crowds definitely put me off going back at the same time next year. We first thought that this was the Boardriders competition and remarked how few surfers were competing, how we expected the surf to be bigger (especially given the stormy conditions) and how peculiar it was that there were Do Not Surf signs up all over the beach... ...then we figured out that we were on the wrong beach! D'oh! We walked around the headland until we found Fistral beach and watched the surf there - with all the bells and whistles that came with it. BMX & skate ramps were erected, tents for the people that intended to stay overnight, the stalls selling flip flops and all manner of lovely sneakers and stuff... and of course wave after wave of pro (and beginner) surfers. Silly us!
