Solar slow cooker - Barbecue cookbooks - Gluten free oatmeal cookie recipe Solar Slow Cooker
Solar oven with better reflector This is an update on my solar box oven project. Here is the new reflector film ordered from Cantina West (thanks again Nathan). This film is much better than the foil tape I had on there. The temperature went from 190F to 230F, which is the temperature I like for most things. For a SLOW COOKER, I like about 225F. For an OVEN, I would like to have about 350F. This box cooker is made from 3/4 inch plywood, painted black on the inside with BBQ paint. I used black granite tiles to line the bottom and a 1/4 inch thick piece of glass which I had cut at a local shop. I made the oven this sized so that it could do 2 large pizzas at the same time. It is tall so that it can hold my usual granite-ware roasting pans - 5 at the same time! Next I need to decides on a fixed location pole mount, or a mobile cart base. Solar slow-cooked Chicken Ratatouille
Yes, I made it again. This is fast becoming a favorite dish - quick to prepare, tasty and and easy. Take two chicken breasts, cut them into bite sized pieces and put them in the cooking pan. Add one can of corn, two cans of sliced stewed tomatoes and a sliced zucchini. Mix it all up and add any seasoning that you with. I used salt, pepper and garlic. Put it in your solar oven and roast for 2-3 hours or until done.
