Dal belvedere di San Gennaro Agnano siamo saliti alla Solfatara, ancora a Pozzuoli. Tra i 40 vulcani che ci sono nei Campi Flegrei, credo che sia l'unico che ha un campeggio proprio nell'interno del cratere. Questo fatto da solo attirarebbe gia la nostra attenzione, ma quando Tonino ci ha detto che il cratere era ancora attivo -in stato quiescente sarebbe la definizione piu esatta- ho cominciato a avere dubbi sulla salute mentale degli ospiti del campeggio... Questo stato quiescente significa che ce un'attivita continua di bassa intensita come possono essere le fumarole di anidride solforosa, getti di fango bollente ed una elevata temperatura del suolo. Nonostante cio, non vi dovete preoccupare: la Solfatara di Pozzuoli sarebbe la valvola di sicurezza che permetterebbe che la pressione del magma presente sotto i Campi Flegrei rimanga costante... Che alleviamento!!! Still in Pozzuoli, we went from San Gennaro to the Solfatara.
