On Saturday October 22nd at 12.44pm on 82nd and central park west outside the Beresford building a road gate opened that covers access to some con Edison steam valves and water pipes as cars were driving over it resulting in 3 cars receiving blow outs of their tires. luckily no injuries were reported and thankfully a motor bike did not cross when the gate fell in.

The huge gate valve seen later is too unweildy to control this engine when it is driving nothing (as most museum engines do). So this little tap allows all the steam that is needed just to turn the engine itself
