Buried Gate Valve
gate valve
- (GATE VALVES) have a wheel type handle. Several turns of the handle are required to turn off a gate valve. Gate valves are most commonly used on main line pipes with high water pressure or high water flow.
- A gate valve, also known as a sluice valve, is a valve that opens by lifting a round or rectangular gate/wedge out of the path of the fluid.
- A valve that lets you completely stop, but not modulate, the flow within a pipe.
- A valve with a sliding part that controls the extent of the aperture
buried
- (bury) cover from sight; "Afghani women buried under their burkas"
- placed in a grave; "the hastily buried corpses"
- Put or hide under ground
- Place (a dead body) in the earth, in a tomb, or in the sea, typically with funeral rites
- Lose (someone, typically a relative) through death
- (burial) the ritual placing of a corpse in a grave
Where is it?
The EBMUD guy got there after about a half hour. He spent a while looking at his book of maps to all the pipes and valves, and then got really pissed off! Quote: "Those guys buried every one of our gates." It seems that when CalTrans re-paved San Pablo a few weeks ago, they covered all the shut-off valves. Buried!
Buried at the Fang Gang. Maybe it was the last show?
