  • Something with many different parts or forms, in particular
  • many and varied; having many features or forms; "manifold reasons"; "our manifold failings"; "manifold intelligence"; "the multiplex opportunities in high technology"
  • make multiple copies of; "multiply a letter"
  • (in an internal combustion engine) The part conveying air and fuel from the carburetor to the cylinders or that leading from the cylinders to the exhaust pipe

    valve
  • A cylindrical mechanism in a brass instrument that, when depressed or turned, admits air into different sections of tubing and so extends the range of available notes
  • A membranous fold in a hollow organ or tubular structure, such as a blood vessel or the digestive tract, that maintains the flow of the contents in one direction by closing in response to any pressure from reverse flow
  • a structure in a hollow organ (like the heart) with a flap to insure one-way flow of fluid through it
  • device in a brass wind instrument for varying the length of the air column to alter the pitch of a tone
  • control consisting of a mechanical device for controlling the flow of a fluid
  • A device for controlling the passage of fluid through a pipe or duct, esp. an automatic device allowing movement in one direction only

Driving 39/52 I built this car a few years back and have been pretty busy to enjoy the build. It took me almost three years of daily attention but I can honestly say I touched literally every bolt on this car. I rebuilt the engine with new internals, re-wired the entire car and hide the wiring along the way, swapped over suspension from another make, rebuilt the brake system and powdercoated the components, ran larger fuel lines with all new plumbing, built a new exhaust to accommodate the planned 22PSI of boost from the turbo, and even swapped in interior pieces from another make. I had the car tuned by a local tuner and it just broke the 400WHP mark at 21PSI of boost, putting it easily into the 13s or high-12s mark for the quarter mile. I forgot how fun it was to drive and really look forward to taking it out on these warm nights again. For those of you who are into cars: 1.8L DOHC VTEC motor from a '95 integra, OEM sleeves -Ferrea valvetrain -CP pistons / Eagle rods -OEM crank -Generic T3/T4 turbo .58 a/r and .63 a/r for hot and cold sides, respectively -750CC injectors -Peakboost equal length exhaust manifold -3" stainless downpipe and exhaust -Spearco intercooler with 2.5" Al piping -OEM transmission and differential! -Custom catch can breather with -12AN lines from valve cover and to block -Hondata S300 and PLX wideband, p28 ECU -20 PSI of boost... give or take a little depending on the mood :-) '95 Integra suspension -LS front knuckles, rear trailing arms, and calipers. All bushings replaced and all calipers rebuilt -1" Master cylinder and 4040 proportional valve -225 size BFG Drag radials up front, 215 size rear -Function 7 rear LCA -ASR subframe brace -Nuespeed rear tie bar and front shock tower brace -Coilovers (forget the brand... but got the next tier down from the stiffest spring rates) 95 Integra interior -Sparco Evo seats -Momo wheel -Greddy boost, EGT, fuel pres, oil pres gauges -PLX wideband 400HP at the wheels, somewhere around 280 lb-ft of torque. Only the Si has Honda's 197-hp, 2.0-Liter, dual-overhead camshaft (DOHC) i-VTEC® 4-Cylinder Engine. The K20Z3 engine produces 197 horsepower at 7800 rpm and 139 lb-ft of torque at 6100 rpm. Thanks to special Honda-developed performance technologies, such as the ultra-precise Drive-by-Wire™ throttle system, 3-rocker i-VTEC® variable valve timing, a cold-air intake and high-flow, low-heat exhaust manifold, the K20Z3 engine boasts an impressively flat torque curve from 2000 rpm all the way to its race car-like 8000-rpm redline. Plus, the K20Z3’s intake and exhaust system is quieter and less obtrusive when cruising at highway speed, but produces an aggressive, sporty sound at full throttle. The Si style is only available with manual transmission. It is a 6-speed vs. a 5-speed for the other manual transmission styles of Civic Sedan.
