Welcome ... 3rd Sandhurst Scout Group has long been established in Sandhurst and currently comprises a Beaver Scout Colony, a Cub Scout Pack and a Scout Troop. The Group benefits from having its own purpose built and well equipped headquarters building, located in the Memorial Park, Yorktown Road, Sandhurst - next to the allotments. Boys and girls are welcome in all sections, which meet weekly during term time. Please contact us for information. You can find out what general events and activities are happening on the Diary dates page. Each of the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts also have a list of activities on their own pages. Detailed information for all events is available via Section Leaders. Due to an excessively high number of 5 to 6 year olds on our waiting list for Beavers, we are not currently accepting any new names onto the list for this age group.
Parent & Child Camp, 2011 at Earlywood. Congratulations to Freddie on his 15 years service award in scouting. District Commisioner Andy Pevy presented Freddie with the award at the start of Fridays troop night. Freddie was also presented with a German Scout cap, to add to his collection. Freddie has been with 3rd Sandhurst as ASL for 8 years. Prior to that he was ACSL at 2nd Crowthorne. The council gave £1,000 to help repair the leaking roof of 3rd Sandhurst Scouts’ hut. Chairman Colin Doran, who had just completed the Brighton Marathon, thanked the council for the donation which is one-third of the funds needed to mend the roof. Scout leader Brenda Davies described recent Scout activities, including going camping with Cubs as young as six years.
We are so pleased and very grateful to have received £2000 from the Kaye Family Fund via the Berkshire Community Fund. This has now enabled us to have the roof repaired sooner than we had anticipated”.
