PERSONAL POETRY BOOK We are reading the book Love That Dog by Sharon Creech. The book is written from the point of view of Jack, a student, who really thinks that poetry is not for him and has little interest of trying to write or understand poems. As he is exposed to more and more poems, and converses with his teacher through his journal, he ends up becoming a poet himself, admiring the work of Robert Frost and Walter Dean Meyers. 3M uses this book and its poems as mentor texts in discussing poetry and writing our own.
