Quick Facts
- 350.org is an international campaign dedicated to creating an
equitable global climate treaty that lowers carbon dioxide below 350
parts per million.
- 350 is the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper
limit for carbon dioxide--measured in "Parts Per Million" in our
atmosphere. 350 ppm--it's the number humanity needs to get back below
as soon as possible to avoid runaway climate change.
- 350.org is coordinating an international day of action on October
24, 2009 at hundreds of iconic places around the world - from the Taj
Mahal to the Great Barrier Reef - we will spark a global movement that
will unite the public, media, and our political leaders behind the 350
goal.
- 350.org was launched in March 2008 by Bill McKibben and the team of
young organizers behind 2007's successful Step It Up campaign.
- Our work is only possible because of our network of friends and
allies around the world, including major international NGOs and local,
grassroots organizations.
