The Engineer 7 The Ring. Two pieces which rely on a single element to be worn, giving a choice: pendant or ring? The main element is a socket which I found beside the road a few years ago. I rashly drilled a couple of holes in it without really being clear what I wanted to do, then abandoned it. I found the socket again in my box of steel scrap - when looking for steel ball-bearings to use on the anchor bracelet - and decided to finish it. The ring is made from an old steel rule and is lined with silver. The socket is set with black CZ, an orange sapphire and a colour-change sapphire and is held in place with a threaded rod made from an old watch-maker's screwdriver. This is set with another colour-change sapphire. The whole piece has been oxidised to give an aged look. Complete
