Project Description:

Sit back and take in the show.

After reading Romeo and Juliet and viewing West Side Story, students will interview interracial couples to inquire about obstacles, if any, they faced or are facing. Students will examine the themes of race and social class in relationships, and will debate these issues in class. Their culminating project will be the writing and performance of two scripts that explore these themes in the past and in the present.
