The Vision

A vintage style mexican wedding to match the historic adobe patio.  Lots of bright colors, ribbons, roses, paper flowers, papel picado, etc.  We're working with a small budget & although it's been a challenge I am having fun planning, searching for deals & being creative.  I've met so many helpful brides on theknot who have given me ideas & saved us lots of money & headaches.

Invitation

I love these invites.  Very cheap from Costco!  I am in the process of "sprucing them up".  I'm adding embellisments, embossing the envelopes, tying them with raffia & making DIY response cards

(they didn't come with any.)

 

The Cake

My favorite part of any wedding...THE CAKE!  Our cake will be from The Great Dane Bakery & will look a little like the calla lily cake.  It will be the peach color of the cake on the right with multi-colored accents.  The bottom layer will be white cake with mango.  Yum!

Flowers

We're doing pink & orange roses in a vase wrapped in turquoise ribbon.  I am inspired by the flowers above.  Hopefully I can do something similiar on my budget.   The FI spotted the candle holders below at Ikea & I'm thinking of putting 4 on each table with some pretty ribbon glued around blank space at the bottom.

 

Decor

A few ideas...I want to do shepards hooks with hanging ribbon & terra cotta pots filled with mexican paper flowers. 

 

The Dress

It's a secret!!!  The FI will be reading this! ;-)  I love it!  I am starting my wedding dress diet  program on 2/25!  Yikes!

 

My Maids of Honor!!!

 

I like the color of this dress.  We're a little behind with dress shopping because one of my maids in pregnant.  My lovely niece & cousin will also be a part of the wedding.  I like the color of the dress below for the younger girls.

 

I like this dress too.
