Theolder, the well known railway bridge, was built between 1883 and 1890 and is regarded as one the great engineering feats of its time. The bridge is 2,765 yards long and carries the main line from Edinburgh and the south. Its maintenance is a continuous and costly task. The other gbridge is the new Forth Road Bridge which was opened in 1964 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This bridge replaces the ferry from North to South Queensferry."

Here were compiled the Annals of Loch Ce which are now preserved in the Library of Trinity College, Dublin."
