I'm always hoping to encounter a box like this: really cool, really mysterious, and really inexpensive raw components. The seller says that these parts were intended for the display panels of treadmills. He had 7-segment LED displays, thick 8-step bar displays... ...And trays of these. It's a matrix of 150 rectangular LEDs. As you're huffing through a 30-minute workout, it graphically shows you the elevation of the fake series of hills you're about to run through. Oh, the things I might be able to do with these! I could drive it with a simple Arduino controller and turn them into anything from a simple piece of decorative interactive art, to a full alphanumeric display. ...But only if I can figure out how these parts work. It's a completely nonstandard component and the chances of getting a data sheet are nil. The back is just two rows of 13 pins. It doesn't look like it's thick enough to contain any other circuitry. That's a good sign; it means that I can probably light these LEDs however I want by putting +5 volts on the right combinations of pins. I'll figure out the logic through lots of boring trial and error, starting with the simple question "Can I take an educated guess as to which pin is the component's common ground?" That's why I didn't even consider buying just one. I expect to burn up one or even two while I try to reverse-engineer this thing. And I didn't even consider drawing out the purchase decision. I knew that these would sell out in twenty minutes or less.

So today had volunteering. Lol, I had nothing to do so I was just sitting at the nurses desk and looking through the drawers and look what I found! Haha, its a magnifying glass. But anyways, everything was good. In the morning I had a precal test -__- I think I did well. Hopefully it'll bump up my grade a little -____-. Then came physics, ahh the other class I'm getting a bad grade. Frick. That's okay whatever. I just know that I have to study harder and pray hard that I'll do well in whatever tests coming up for these classes. In the afternoon, I went to the Y. I needed stress relief. I jogged on the treadmill for 30 minutes and did some ab workout. Then chilled and meditated outside for awhile. Then home. God please help me. Guide me the strength and knowledge to maintain my GPA and not get kicked out of NHS. I love you so much and please please guide me through this rough school year. Thank you Lord for everything. I'm sorry for whatever I have done in knowing what was wrong. Please be my light and help me get through this no matter how hard it is. You are always with me. -Aprille.
