a fine place to camp - saturday there were very few people at camp on any of the three nights that I was there. It was the end of the camping season, and a few brave tenting souls were there for a night, some maybe two - but none made it to three. temps went down to 7F each night, and each morning, a few more leaves were found on my windshield. camp hosts took pity on me and put a space heater in the women's bathroom "in case you get cold at night dear" and of course there was hot running water as well. At night I could hear the distant quacking of the geese, roosting in the tall grasses behind my tent; sometimes I would hear a deer or few hoofing carefully around my tent, a lonesome hyena would cry out from a distant mountain range, coyotes would anxiously laugh, across the lake. there's right wildlife hiding in the weeds, and - tucked in my -40 sleeping bag, my fleece, my hot Nalgenes and my handwarmers - I was there to enjoy it all.
