PEWTER SHOT GLASS : COFFEE TABLESPOONS PER CUP Pewter Shot Glass
Pewter Still-Life, III ***Looks best on black: press the āLā key on your keyboard to see this photo against a black background*** This is a re-cropped and newly framed version of a pewter still life shot that I posted a about a year and a half ago. Twice a year, we have this rare angle of sunshine coming through a leaded-glass bathroom window on the south side of our home. It turns a very ordinary pewter soap dish and jug into mysterious and beautiful art objects! I was originally going to clean the dust off the pewter jug (it was rather dusty) before taking the shot, but decided that the granite counter-top was very shiny and I'd rather have the pewter look a little softer and older for contrast. ***Please note: my app (which I really like) for adding a frame to my shots somehow substitutes the date that the frame was added in place of the date the shot was actually taken. In reality, this photo was taken on 5/4/2010, using a Canon PowerShot A1000-IS. Day Thirteen - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
It seems to me that when most people go somewhere tourist-y, they all by little trinkets. Some people opt for refrigerator magnets, others might choose little pewter statues of the Eiffel Tower or the Empire State Building. Personally, I go right for the shot glasses. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a heavy drinker and, therefore, don't really have too much of a use for shot glasses, but I just can't get enough of the occasionally kitschy, usually gaudy, glasses. I have more than these 6, but these are a few of my favorites.
