It's early morning. 5:30 a.m. here. I've taken to bringing an electric coffee pot upstairs at night, it's easier just to walk into the den and start it, and have my few half-cups, steaming hot, in bed or in front of the fire, before the day begins. Dark November mornings are hard, especially with the sound of my neighbor scraping the frost from his windshield. Is there any sound colder than that? The trees are now bare, which affords me a nicer view of the river from my bed, but at what price! Yesterday, by midday, the sun was out and it was wonderful along the riverbank romping with Benny, but there is no denying it, winter will soon be here. So here's a sweet william from the archives and my garden with it's petals open, that I thought I'd share... xx

Recycling @ 15th Ave Coffee & Tea

I especially like the "Pour out your extra coffee" urn - I'm sure simply taking the liquid out of the refuse stream significantly reduces the weight - if not the volume - of trash generated at this store. It would be nice to see this - and the recycling bin - migrate over to regular Starbucks stores.
