Lessons Learned

This year in TechXplore we learned many new things. Our research project was World Hunger. First, we researched poverty and hunger. There were many disturbing facts about hungry people (children especially). For example “one child dies every five seconds from hunger.”  Then, we looked for potential solutions. Each person learned about a different solution. Finally, we decided on a final solution. Our final solution was food cloning. We each researched a part of food cloning.

But we did not only learn about researching and our research topics. We learned how to work in a group and communicate with others who have similar interests to us. Mrs. Borree (the librarian) helped us make a website and Mrs. Gaffney made sure that we learned to get our work done on time. Most importantly, we have recognized that there are people in the world that need help. Scientific research can help these people overcome their hardship. The world needs young scientists like us to help create innovative new solutions to the problems of the world.

Overall, people thought that our project was really good, and that world hunger is an issue that should be focused on. Most people, however, said that they didn't have very good feelings about cloning. Some even said that the world just isn't ready for that kind of technology.
People also said that we should have had more pictures, and the site should be more colorful. We decided that it would be better to have a mellower color scheme because of the whole issue, and how it affects people.
