Problem

There are many nations in the world where people do not have enough to eat because of poverty.

Hunger is the most extreme form of poverty because individuals or families can’t meet the basic need of food.

Most poor people who suffer from world hunger also have to deal with chronic undernourishment, and vitamin or mineral deficiencies. These can result in stunted growth, weakness and can heighten their susceptibility to illness.

When there is a family in a poor country and they can’t grow enough food or earn enough money to buy food there is nowhere that they could turn for help.

Some poor countries lack the things that we have such as soup kitchens, food stamps, and programs that train people for jobs.

The world is made up of about 99 low and middle income countries where people’s standards of living have access to fewer goods and services than people in countries that have a high income.

Every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger.
