(trading volume) in the futures -market, number of transactions in a contract made during a certain period of time.
(Trading volume) The number of shares transacted every day. As there is a seller for every buyer, one can think of the trading volume as half of the number of shares transacted. That is, if A sells 100 shares to B, the volume is 100 shares.
(Trading Volume) The average volume (in thousands and local currency) of common shares traded during the last three years and one year on the major exchange that the shares are listed on. For U.S. companies it is the New York Stock Exchange.
