She opened the water valves up and started the process that would refill the water tower and she began her trek back to the Hoever-Carriage. She emerged from the cave's mouth into the Moroccan moonlight and sighed. The sky was cloudless this eve, nearly filled with stars to excess. So beautiful! She easily located the ancient Shr'nichth H'a constellation and repeated a silent prayer to M'aarlytch that her friends would find themselves safe under the very same sky. As soon as she got back she checked the wax cylinder recorder and noticed that it had spun down! She must have been down longer then planned and missed the scheduled meeting on the Sub-Aether Transponder! "Drat!" she exclaimed as she set a new blank wax tube in it and wound up the transponder device to contact the field operations. No answer! Obviously they couldn't afford to man the transponder on their end all night; she was just hoping against reason there was a chance it had been on at that moment. She then activated the wax recorder and recorded a new message in case they tried to contact her and she was indisposed again. "Good morning, fellows! I do not have time to explain how, but I have discovered that the venomous Reynard has a powerful being within his thrall through dark methods.
