A solenoid valve is an electromechanical valve for use with liquid or gas. The valve is controlled by an electric current through a solenoid coil.

Valve that is actuated with a electromagnetic solenoid magnet. 2 possible variations, NC (naturally closed) which is closed when there is no current applied and NO (naturally open) which is open when no current is applied

Brewery Controller

This is my custom built brewery controller for the brewery I am building. It's purpose is to drive 2 5500 watt heating elements, 2 magnetic drive pumps and 11 solenoid valves. It's "brain" is a BrewTroller which has iPod like input and output via the large black knob and the 4 line LCD above it. It also integrates three of my BrewTroller PID Displays for showing current and set temperatures and it has switches to allow Manual/Auto/Off for every functional output. When running full blast it will use almost 50 amps of 240v power. The box started as a horrible tan electrical box from eBay which I machined manually and on my CNC mill and then had powder coated at Seattle Powder Coating. They did an awesome job and now the finish has a really great, fine texture. The acrylic covers over the three displays are .093" acrylic machined on my CNC mill.
