Meet Dr. James Rosenbaum, keynote speaker at the forum:
James E. Rosenbaum (B.A.Yale, Ph.D.Harvard) is Professor of Sociology, Education, and Social Policy at Northwestern University. He has advised the Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Mayor’s office on educational issues, and US Congressional Commitees, and he is on two federal advisory panels: the National Assessment of Career and Technical Education and the National Longitudinal Survey of High School. In 2008, he was awarded the Senior Urban Education Fellowship from the Council of the Great City Schools and he is an advisor for Education Week. Dr. Rosenbaum has conducted extensive research on the high school to work transition and linkages among students, schools, and employers. His recent book, After Admission, explores how certain procedures and practices at two-year colleges have had a significant impact on degree completion and student success.
