Navajo Code Talkers
A pathfinder is a way of researching a particular theme using the best resources. This pathfinder will help you explore the exciting story of code talkers. The Navajo used secret codes as a language and became a major influence in the outcome of
World War II. These resources will take you back in history to learn: how the Code Talkers came into being, how the original 29 were chosen, what exactly their job was going to entail, their impact on the outcome of the war, and how they are remembered in history today. Follow the links on the left hand side of the page to start your adventure.
These will help you search more accurately. The more specific, the better and that means less useless information.
Here is where you'll find books housed at our media center. Print sources are a very important part of research.
Databases are great research tools. You can use the information found there and know it has been carefully researched, proofread, and edited. The databases also provide very current information.
Who doesn't love watching videos? These will give you a bird's eye view of interviews/activities with some of the original Navajo Code Talkers.
OK, I know how much you like to look up information on the net. These links will let you do that, but with a little guidance. They are age appropriate (readable), relevant to your topic, contain correct information, are interesting, and are well made.
Fun stuff ! Have some fun playing with these and find some useful information in the meantime.
This is where you show what you've learned! Ask for help when you need it...Stay on task...Produce a wonderful final project...Make me (and yourself) proud!
Enough said!
