1) Men fix there own stuff. Everyone else calls a repairman. 2) Men also break their own stuff thus facilitating the need for #1. 3) Men cannot follow instructions. Again facilitating the need for #1 above. 4) Men keep frogs in their pockets and must be reminded to remove them before doing the wash. The story: After 9 years of faithful service our Frigidaire washing machine took a dive last night. The washer refused to drain. After draining the wash tub of water with a Shop Vac (all Men have Shop Vacs), I discovered the drain pump was not functioning. Designed into the washer drain system is a little catch basin to collect items which escape the wash basin and find their way to the pump. These items should not be in the washer in the first place. needless to say after 9 years a rather large number of things collected in this basin: coins, an allen wrench, fender washer, chain, and other odd bits. The motor itself worked fine but the impeller had been stripped by the coins which were now over flowing the catch basin and bouncing around the pump intake manifold. Lesson here is, men empty your pockets. Women go through your man's pockets because he won't do it anyway. Finally, if you have a front load washer and it is more than 8 years old, take 30 minutes and pull off the drain pump catch basin to empty out the coins. The $5 in change does not offset the $120 motor.

My cousin came over while we were draining our pool, we played an intense game of pool soccer, my legs were sore :)
