In this session, we will be using Google Apps for Your Domain. Participants should already have a Google Account and have basic familiarity with Google Docs. We will provide a user account to Google Apps with Administrative privileges for this session. This presentation will expose teachers to the tools available with Google Apps, the tools available as a site administrator for Google Apps for your domain, and how these tools can be the foundation of creating a collaborative 21st century learning environment. This session will not cover the very beginning skills of using an online processing such as docs.

 

We will share our personal experiences using and administering Google Apps for your Domain with elementary, junior high, and high school students as well as tips we have learned from our personal learning network of Google Certified Educators.

 

Participants will be able to

• use the features of Google Apps for your Domain (including docs, sites, calendar, chat, email, igoogle) from a student or teacher perspective.
• use the administrative control panel of Google Apps for your domain, including managing users and access to various features.
• discuss some of the best practices for using Google Apps for your Domain, including innovative classroom uses and Internet Safety strategies.
