Computer cooling is required to remove the waste heat produced by computer components, to keep components within their safe operating temperature limits. Various cooling methods help to improve processor performance and/or to reduce the noise of cooling fans.

Socket A (also known as Socket 462) is the CPU socket used for AMD processors ranging from the Athlon Thunderbird to the Athlon XP/MP 3200+, and AMD budget processors including the Duron and Sempron.

SpinQ Mount/Clearance test

Due to its large size, I experimented for a while in arranging the cooler to fit in the case without too much hassle. If you notice the gaping hole in the case on the right, that was left by one of the fans that I had to remove to allow clearance for the cooler. In the end, because the coolers aluminium fins would contact the heat-sinks on my DDR3 memory chips, I decided to arrange it 180* in the other direction, as the copper heat pipes didn't contact the heat-sinks.

A few CPU coolers, but the aluminum structures I prefer to call heat sinks; the aluminum is sculptured in such a precise way it lends itself to beauty, mimicking the symmetry found in nature.
