August: Damon Stich "Damon has been active at AHS by being involved in several school-related extracurricular activities such as National Honor Society; Scholastic Bowl; Marching, Pep, and Jazz Bands; WYSE Team; High School Play; and Blackburn College Day Competitor." September: Dana Koerner "When she is not at
AHS, Dana is heavily involved in local area music organizations. She has played the flute for the Sangamon
Valley Youth Symphony, Lincoln Area Music Society Orchestra, Springfield Municipal
Band, Illinois Music Educators Association District and State Bands, Bradley
Honor Band, Mount Pulaski Methodist Church Christmas Cantata, and Mount Pulaski
9/11 Tribute." October: Lucas Brown "Outside of Athens
High School, Lucas volunteers at prevention leadership conferences such as the
Mid-level Institute and the Illinois Teen Institute. He also reads Rebecca
Caudill books to intermediate students and volunteers at the Women’s Memorial
Medical Center’s Health Fair. In
addition, Lucas is actively involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes." November: Lauren Bulinski "When
she is not involved in school activities, Lauren is active in the 4-H Athens
Prairieland Ag group and the Catholic Youth Group. She also volunteers her time at Henson
Robinson Zoo as a junior zookeeper by assisting with various children’s
activities as well as enhancing the vegetation at the zoo." December: Holly Crocher "When she is not involved
in school activities, Holly is active in her church youth group by being a
student leader over the youth group, by volunteering at Vacation Bible School
during the summer, and by participating in her church mission camp."
January: Kelsey Penrod "Kelsey is described
by her teachers as one of the hardest working students who excels at managing
her time and takes the initiative to seek out students who need assistance. She
works to her full potential while being a great example for her peers." February: Kayla Sagritalo "Kayla
is described by her teachers as having a great attitude and being very well
organized. She is an active participant
in class and has an excellent work ethic. She is determined to be successful
and serves as positive role model in the school." March: Patrick Richardson "He
has been highly involved in Boy Scouts of America for the past six years. He earned his Eagle Scout Award and for his
service project, he planted numerous trees at Cantrall Intermediate School. In addition, he is an active member of the Order
of the Arrow-Illinek Lodge #132 and has received the Vigil Honor Award. At the Illinois State Military Museum, he volunteers
as an impressionist for the living history detachment." Abigayle Jankauski "When she is not participating in school activities, Abigayle is volunteering for the Autism Society of America Central IL Chapter. During her involvement with the Autism Society, she has worked games, concessions, and information tables; assisted withthe Autism Zoo Event and Autism fundraiser walk; and volunteered in the office.." |
